Lithuanian Fund for Nature
Founded in 1991, the Lithuanian Fund for Nature (LFN) is one of the first environmental organizations in Lithuania. The foundation aims to preserve the country's biodiversity, encourage the sustainable use of natural resources, and increase public awareness of the importance of protecting nature.
The LFN cooperates with international organizations, government institutions, businesses, and local communities to find sustainable solutions and achieve long-term impact on nature conservation.
The LFN develops projects aimed at protecting biodiversity and managing natural resources sustainably, as well as raising public environmental awareness.

VISION
To preserve living nature, ensure harmony between it and human activities, and create a future in which biodiversity is valued, protected, and passed on to future generations.
MISSION
To be one of the first and leading organizations in Lithuania seeking to protect biodiversity through the promotion of nature conservation and the sustainable use of resources.
Our team
The Lithuanian Fund for Nature team is made up of people united by their love for and desire to conserve nature. Each member brings unique experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to help us achieve our goals.
We are dedicated to collaborating with communities, businesses, and governments to promote sustainable resource use and biodiversity conservation. Together, we strive for long-term solutions that will protect our planet's natural wealth for future generations.

ABOUT US
History
Founded in 1991, the Lithuanian Fund for Nature (LFN) was one of the first independent conservation organizations in Lithuania. The organization was founded with the aim of addressing environmental challenges and preserving biodiversity. Since then, the LFN has been involved in protecting rare species and habitats, restoring waterways, and promoting the sustainable use of forest and agricultural resources.
Over the past three decades, the LFN has implemented numerous significant projects and contributed to the creation of the Natura 2000 network and the implementation of EU environmental policy in Lithuania. The LFN has also prioritized public education and community involvement in nature conservation.
Today, the LFN remains one of the most important conservation organizations, continuing its work to ensure biodiversity and sustainability.

LIFE Osmo Baltic – tarptautiniame LIFE projektų susitikime Italijoje
Spalio pradžioje LIFE Osmo Baltic komanda dalyvavo tarptautiniame sąskrydyje Italijoje, Cansiglio regione. Susitikimą organizavo LIFE SPAN projektas, siekdamas suburti įvairių Europos LIFE iniciatyvų atstovus, dirbančius saproksilinės biologinės įvairovės išsaugojimo ir miško buveinių tvaraus valdymo srityse. Lithuanian Nature Foundation joins the initiative to ensure accessibility to nature
23 May The Lithuanian Union of People with Disabilities (LWPD), together with the Lithuanian Nature Foundation and the Latvian Green Movement, organised a seminar on accessibility of natural sites, with a special focus on the adaptation of coastlines and beaches according to the principles of universal design.

145 auksavabalio lervos – naujuose namuose Liepijų miške!
LIFE Osmo Baltic projektas įgauna pagreitį – birželio pabaigoje net 145 niūriaspalvio auksavabalio (Osmoderma barnabita) lervos, išaugintos Lietuvos zoologijos sode, perkeltos į specialius inkilus Liepijų miške, Žemaitijos nacionaliniame parke.
MANAGEMENT
The Lithuanian Fund for Nature is governed by a board of 11 members, elected by the meeting of the foundation's founders. The board is responsible for approving the organization’s programs and projects, and appoints key leadership positions, including the Executive Director and the Financial Officer.
The Executive Director heads the administrative team, represents the foundation in external relations, and oversees the coordination of programs and projects.
