ABOUT US
History
Established in 1991, the Lithuanian Fund for Nature (LFN) was one of the first independent nature conservation organisations in Lithuania. It was founded with the aim of addressing environmental challenges and protecting biodiversity. From the outset, the Fund has played an active role in protecting rare species and habitats, restoring waterways and promoting the sustainable use of forest and agricultural resources.
Over the past three decades, the LFN has implemented numerous significant projects and contributed to the creation of the NATURA 2000 network and the implementation of EU environmental policy in Lithuania. The foundation has also devoted considerable attention to public education and community involvement in nature conservation.
Today, LFN remains one of the most important nature conservation organisations, continuing its work to ensure biodiversity and sustainability.
