ABOUT US

Lithuanian Fund for Nature is one of the first environmental organizations in Lithuania

Lithuanian Fund for Nature (LFN) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the conservation of Lithuania's natural environment.

Since 1991, Lithuanian Fund for Nature has been one of the first environmental organisations in Lithuania to preserve the country's natural heritage, promote sustainable development and carry out a variety of projects aimed at preserving biodiversity, restoring ecosystems and promoting environmental education.

PROJECTS

Projects Implemented by Lithuanian Fund for Nature

LIFE Osmo Baltic

The project, "Baltic Wide Web for Osmoderma eremita: The Creation of an Ecological Network in the Baltic Region",  was launched this year by Lithuanian Fund for Nature (LFN), a public nature conservation organization, and its partners in Latvia and Lithuania. Funded by the European Union, as well as Lithuanian and Latvian institutions, LIFE Osmo Baltic project is dedicated to researching and protecting the habitats of the hermit beetle (Osmoderma barnabita), which are old deciduous trees. The project duration is 6.5 years, covering the period from January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2030.

23 May The Lithuanian Union of People with Disabilities (LWPD), together with the Lithuanian Nature Foundation and the Latvian Green Movement, organised a seminar on accessibility of natural sites, with a special focus on the adaptation of coastlines and beaches according to the principles of universal design.
