Protection of the Baltic Sea and inland waters

The Lithuanian Nature Foundation pays great attention to the protection of the Baltic Sea and inland waters. We identify and address the main problems in these ecosystems: diffuse pollution, deterioration of water quality, as well as the loss of habitats and sensitive species. Coastal habitats are an integral part of the aquatic ecosystem, therefore we implement projects aimed at improving water quality by restoring wetlands, restoring river continuity and fish migration routes, and promoting environmental initiatives. We also pay particular attention to public education and raising awareness about the importance of aquatic ecosystems and the challenges they face.
