Climate change

Climate change, together with biodiversity loss, are two closely related existential crises that threaten the survival of humanity. Scientists unanimously agree that these problems cannot be solved in isolation – solving one crisis and ignoring the other can cause even greater damage.

The Lithuanian Foundation for Nature is working to make biodiversity protection an integral part of the fight against climate change. One of our priorities is the restoration of wetlands, which not only helps restore habitats for rare species, but also stops greenhouse gas emissions from degraded areas. Such nature-based solutions are necessary to achieve long-term changes that would help solve both crises at the same time.

We are convinced that nature management can be an integral part of the fight against the climate change crisis. We develop and implement projects that rely on nature-based solutions and unite biodiversity protection and climate change mitigation, promoting a sustainable approach to the environment around us.
